Since the CIF North Coast Section (both East Bay & Redwood Empire portions) still haven’t played any games yet as this feature was being finalized, the preseason label still fits. We begin with an intro to the new head coach at Cardinal Newman of Santa Rosa and then it’s a lineup of players led by the Cardinals but also lots of attention to traditional power Marin Catholic (Kentfield) plus defending CIF D4AA state champion St. Vincent de Paul.
Note: These preseason all-section or all-area teams are done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Transfers may not be included if not reported yet, haven’t played for a new school yet, or info on a transfer from previous school isn’t available. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.
STATEWIDE LINEUP OF THESE PRESEASON TEAMS
