California’s most authentic source for state high school rankings and all-state teams in five sports, and the only source for state records in all sports, is teaming up with a magazine partner for the 2013-14 school year. In an agreement SportStars Mag 250 announced in July 2013 by CalHiSports.com editor-publisher Mark Tennis and SportStars Magazine publisher Mike Calamusa, CalHiSports.com will become the official statewide content provider to the magazine as it relates to state rankings, all-state teams and state records. SportStars Magazine, in turn, will become the official magazine partner of the CalHiSports.com website. Look for the CalHiSports.com content in a two-page spread within each issue published 20 times a year. SportStars Magazine, which launched in the 2010-11 school year, is based in Concord. Student Sports: Official National Content Distributor of CalHiSports.com
Student Sports is a Torrance-based multi-media, experiential organization focused on the next generation of student-athletes. Cal-Hi Sports co-founder Mark Tennis and California Football Magazine publisher Andy Bark began a partnership in 1989 with Tennis focusing on editorial duties and Bark focusing on business development. Bark founded Student Sports in 1991 to take the print and event initiatives of Cal-Hi Sports and Student Sports Logo Cal-Hi Sports Magazine national. Student Sports is the most authentic producers of high school football combines and camps and has executed combines and 64-team 7-on-7 passing tournaments since 1989. By the end of the 1990s, the football combines would add a training component to become the industry standard Nike Football Training Camps. Nike-sponsored football events Student Sports executes include the Nike Football SPARQ Combines, the Elite 11 Quarterback Camps and The Opening. Student Sports also owns and operates the prestigious Area Code Baseball Games.
