School-By-School Football Scores

During the 2014-15 school year, we began the process of contacting various schools from around the state to compile their various archives of all-time football scores going back through the years. When the year was done, there were 16 schools that decided to sign up for the program.

This program is not for every school. It’s only for those that have been playing football for 50 years or more and we know that some schools have already had a hobbyist or someone similar look up their scores and records. We also know that the Partleton Sports web site in San Diego already has posted all-time logs of schools in the San Diego Section and that CIF Central Coast Section historian Bob Barnett has the same information for schools in that section.

Still, it’s a huge state and a lot of schools can benefit from this program. It was only possible due to the collection of index cards that we have access to from longtime historian Bruce McIntosh, who lived in Rio Vista and began compiling these cards, believe it or not, in the 1950s. Bruce died on December 1, 2017 in Vacaville at age 87.

In the spring of the 2016 school year, we decided to continue to contact more schools about this program plus launch an index page where we can post links to the stories we’ve done on each school that has been researched. In addition, this index page will be the place for any school to send us a link to where its all-time football scores may be seen whether the school has signed up for our archive program or not.

If your school has such a location or link or is interested in finding out more about your school can benefit from this amazing collection of all-time scores, contact markjtennis@gmail.com and we’ll be glad to get started on the work or including the link.
