We were not able to get three of our preseason all-area/all-section football teams completed in time before the start of the season in those places. One of them was this one within the CIF Southern Section. And in the first game, the top running back from the San Gabriel Valley had to go to the hospital in an ambulance with an injury. It thankfully didn’t turn out to be that serious. This region is led by Damien of La Verne from the Baseline League. It also includes schools like Cathedral, Loyola and Salesian of Los Angeles plus the Antelope Valley to the north.
Note: These preseason all-section or all-area teams are done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Transfers may not be included if not reported yet, haven’t played for a new school yet, or info on a transfer from previous school isn’t available. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.
