State Football Players of the Week
This week we not only find some hidden talent for statewide recognition, which is one of the goals of this weekly feature, but we visit the Cal-Hi Sports Online Record Book which is the other focus of the State Football Players of the Week. Both offensive players have totals that will get a listing. We […]
State Football Players of the Week
This is a great week for the Cal-Hi Sports State Football Players of the Week feature. Two weeks ago we got a nomination from the dean of California prep journalists, Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times, and this week we got one from the top prep scribes in Northern California. Plus, there are a […]
State Football Players of the Week
We had one nomination for a NorCal player this week with 423 yards rushing and seven TDs, but it’s for a player who has been featured before. After all searching was done, instead we have a NorCal player with 431 yards rushing and seven TDs. We also have a QB with 507 yards passing. Besides […]
State Football Players of the Week
With publisher Mark Tennis off on holiday, we had to look for other ways to accept nominations to find three players from Southern California and three from Northern California worthy of statewide recognition. With the CIF North Coast Section and CIF Central Coast Section in action this past week for the first time this season we had one NorCal winner each from those two sections. Those two stops were in Lafayette and Soquel, while in Southern California we visited Orange, La Jolla and a stone’s throw away from […]
State Football Players of the Week
With the CIF North Coast Section and CIF Central Coast Section not beginning action until this week, the NorCal choices were a little lighter, but for the first week of this feature this season we still have some very deserving winners from north of the Grapevine. We had one winner who will etch his name […]
State Softball/Baseball Players of Week
As the old saying goes “all good things must come to an end” and for this week’s State Baseball-Softball Players of the Week this will be the final installment for the 2024-25 school year. Despite the fact there are only a handful of teams either still alive and competing in the CIF Regional Playoffs, and […]
