We have now completed another tour of the state to start a high school football season in California and end with the far north section of the CIF. Several teams have already played season openers and there was a big one that indicates defending D2 champion Pleasant Valley of Chico is going to be elite once again despite heavy grad losses. Lassen of Susanville has a lot back from its D3 title team and Winters returns its QB after dominant 2024 regular season.
Note: These preseason all-section or all-area teams are done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Transfers may not be included if not reported yet, haven’t played for a new school yet, or info on a transfer from previous school isn’t available. Not every all-section team will have writeups of every player. Some will have an intro, then lists.
