Folsom may be the big favorite to win another SJS D1 title and has five players on this 30-man squad, but Grant of Sacramento also had to have five and may have seven to eight D1 bound players by the time the season is over. Oak Ridge of El Dorado Hills (beat Grant in the playoffs last season) also has more than one player featured on this team. Others with more than one on first team are Manteca, Liberty Ranch of Galt, Woodcreek of Roseville and Franklin of Elk Grove.
Note: These preseason all-section teams are done in the same 30-player format as the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams. They are based on a combination of what the players did last season and college recruiting. Transfers may not be included if not reported yet, haven’t played for a new school yet, or info on a transfer from previous school isn’t available.
