All-State FB Nominees (Part 3)

We roll on with the selection process for the 39th annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams with this third set of all-state nominees. This first group of players who were placed on our board were from the CIF Central Coast Section, CIF North Coast Section, CIF Northern Section, CIF Sac-Joaquin Section plus San Francisco & Oakland. The second group was from the Central Section, L.A City and San Diego sections. This third one is exclusively from the CIF Southern Section. Don’t get mad if a player isn’t listed. It’s our goal not to miss anyone at the end, a second set of nominees will be posted (Gold Club) and we welcome additional nominees from parents, coaches and fans.

Note: Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football content that will be for Gold Club members include second, final list of nominees plus second team, third team overall and All-State Underclass. The free posts will be first team overall and first team small schools and medium schools. This post represents another step toward selection of the annual Cal-Hi Sports All-State Football Teams and it is for us to present lists of nominees that have been put up on our virtual board.

This list covers the massive CIF Southern Section.

By no means are these meant to be all-inclusive lists of every possible all-state player in California and we will miss listing some top juniors and sophomores on purpose because this isn’t a recruiting list. We encourage and welcome input from all users of our site and will be releasing a second, even more complete, updated list of nominees prior to when the teams are actually chosen and released.

Please send any nomination with each athlete’s height, weight, position, year in school, significant statistics. Comparing a player not on the board yet to one who already is also can be very important toward eventual selection. Limit each nomination to one page please. Send to: markjtennis@gmail.com or call (209) 608-1317. Text messages to that number are okay as well.

The format we will continue to use is to honor a 30-player overall all-state first team with 30 more on second team. Each first team player is written up. There also are 30 for medium schools and 30 for small schools and yes we are struggling with what’s medium and what’s small with competitive equity. All that is certain is that players from large, public high schools will not be considered “small school.”

Don’t assume we know all there is to know about a player on the list, either. Send us info to make sure all pertinent information is turned in and placed into our files.

Dajour Dixon led Paraclete defense with 11.5 sacks and 10 TFL . He had 54 total tackles . He is a standout DE/DT and certainly deserves to be on this list.

Wrong list This is for the southern section. You need the San Joaquin section list.

Blake Truhitte, Santa Maria High, only QB in state to have rushed over 2000 yards and passed over 2000 yards. Amazing only 5ft 7″” tall and 140 pounds.

Zach Burrola had 134 total tackles with 70 solo tackles, 9 tfl, 5 sacks in 9 games this year for end of regular season totals. Tackle numbers were good for 1st in CBL, 1st in division 5, and second in the entire southern section. On offense he had 382 scrimmage yards with 5 touchdowns this season. As a junior he had 153 total tackles. Was 1st team allCBL,1st team all CIF and all area 1st team. He is a stellar football player who has been on varsity since sophomore season in which he had 77 total tackles. Hard working consistent football player.
