Girls BB: More State Coaches of Year

Congratulations to all of the 2022-23 Cal-Hi Sports State Coaches of the year for girls basketball. These are the ones for each of the five state divisions, although we do combine the Open and Division I. Three of the four earned nods for huge turnaround seasons from last year.

All-State Baseball: 2nd & 3rd Teams

The 36th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams package for baseball also includes 30 players named second team overall plus 50 more who are third team. The third team, however, is only for seniors and only for large schools.

New Baseball State Top 20

First five from last week stay hot in section playoffs, but it’s an upheaval after that. Six new teams are in with the highest risers being Granite Hills of El Cajon and Marina of Huntington Beach.

New State Softball Top 20

Amador Valley is a little light on offense, but doesn’t give up a run in winning the Queen of the Mountain tournament to remain the state’s top-ranked team. Highest-rising newcomers this week are California of San Ramon and Los Osos of Rancho Cucamonga.
