At this stage of the season, with the CIF Southern Section playoffs already in full swing, and the other sections about ready to begin their playoff competition, the computerized seeding and rankings derived from them don’t really hold a lot of water moving forward. That’s because at this point all that really matters is head-to-head and who wins on the court and not based on some formula that doesn’t produce victories. Because of that, we have some changes after the first six spots this week that reflect those results. We may be wrong but we’ll see which is closer to getting it right. This also was a week that some teams in the CIFSS Open Division (Oak Park, Rancho Christian & Fairmont Prep) got rankings jumps even though they were routed in their other Open Divisiion game last week by one of the top three seeds.
