All-State FB: Where They’re Going

USC wasn’t the only college to pick up a pair of first-team all-state defenders on Wednesday’s National Letter of Intent signing day. While the Trojans made a push for having the nation’s No. 1 class due to getting Long Beach Poly DB Iman Marshall and Gardena Serra LB John Houston, Arizona State also scored by getting both DL Joseph Wicker of Long Beach Poly and DB hybrid Jay Jay Wilson of Valencia.

With Marshall and Wicker announcing their choices on ESPNU during a signing ceremony inside the Poly library, eight other Jackrabbit football players signed on Wednesday for a total of 10.

Serra of Gardena reported eight signers and so did Chaparral of Temecula. CIF Division I state champ Folsom reported seven for Division I, which according to the Sacramento Bee is an area record. CIF Open Division champ De La Salle only had two listed by the Contra Costa Times, but two others could sign and the Spartans were loaded with as many as seven to eight juniors this season that may sign next year.

It looks like Long Beach Poly will have the most in the state (which has happened numerous times over the years) but info is still being collected.

Here is a list of where each all-state first team and all-state second team player is going to college:

Grant of Sacramento's 6-foot-5, 320-pound Darrin Paulo made a late decision to sign with Utah.
