San Diego Honor Bowl Sweep

Debate between Helix of La Mesa and Oceanside over the No. 1 ranking in the CIF San Diego Section may last awhile and could extend all the way to this year’s Open Division section final. Both put on a show in Friday wins at the U-T Honor Bowl against quality opponents.

Day 2 Honor Bowl: 3-0 for Cali

Nevada teams from the Reno area actually aren’t that far from Loomis, but all three that played on Saturday at the Honor Bowl went home licking their wounds from losses to solid California teams.

Lions All-Stars settle for tie

The 21-21 final score is just the second in 41 years of the North vs. South Central California Lions All-Star Classic. Saturday night’s game in Tracy featured an MVP outing from a QB more known for handing off, an Offensive MVP who switched to slot receiver and a Defensive MVP more known for catching passes.

Local Lions Game Saturday

This year’s Central California Lions All-Star Classic moves to Wayne Schneider Stadium in Tracy. The 41st annual game features two potent running backs who were in a 69-55 scorefest last season. We have a prediction of which team will win.

Breakout Day For O’Dowd’s Eifler

He’ll just be a junior next season, but Oakland Bishop O’Dowd’s Camilo Eifler will have a lot of college eyes on him after he soars to a 113.16 SPARQ Rating at Saturday’s Northern California Nike combine at Laney College. There were others who turned heads among an all-time best turnout of 1,480 players.
