The Opening Oakland: MVPs & Invites

California players collect six of the seven MVP awards at the annual Northern California stop of the national Nike football tour. Four of those players also were handed out invites to Nike’s version of “football heaven” to be held this July at its world headquarters in Beaverton, Ore.

NEW Bay Area 25 Football Rankings

McClymonds makes a statement by overwhelming previously unbeaten Analy but can’t move up in the rankings with St. Ignatius and Liberty having to go even higher. Mitty’s win over Pittsburg and Los Gatos suffering close loss in Stockton also impacts this week’s pecking order.

Bay Area 25 Football Rankings

Here is the opening top 25 for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for the 2014 football season. After De La Salle, it could be Pittsburg and the CIF Central Coast Section leaders (Serra & Valley Christian) jockeying inside the first five positions.

Receiver J.J. Koski from San Ramon Valley of Danville has a big day at the 2014 Nike Football Training Camp for Northern California, but he wasn’t the only MVP as voted on by the coaches from his school.
