As the regional playoffs start up this week, St. Mary’s of Stockton moves up three spots and Mission Hills of San Marcos goes up two after winning CIF sectional titles last weekend. Etiwanda also exchanges positions with Sierra Canyon at No. 2 and No. 3 after its huge win in the CIF Southern Section Open Division final. The biggest news, though, came from a team that didn’t play last week as the state’s winningest head coach ever at No. 4 Mater Dei made a big announcement.
