Boys BB All-State Nominations (Part 1)

Jackson Mosley from St. Francis of La Canada (left) scored more than 1,000 points in his career & is the son of East L.A. College head coach John Mosley (Last Chance U). It’s only a few weeks after we got wrapped up with all of the all-state teams in football, but now it’s time to start the process toward selecting the 44th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state teams in boys basketball. This is the first list of nominees based on all of our sources, but there will be a second, updated list of nominees after receiving input from many coaches, parents and fans from this first list.

We hope you enjoy this free post on Please help us out today by becoming a member of our Gold Club so you can see all of our great content. Several of the upcoming all-state boys basketball team posts will be for Gold Club members only plus player rankings, stat stars and upcoming state record updates. For more on special offer to get signed up for $3.99 per month, CLICK HERE.

What We’re Looking For: It’s only too late to send in a nomination once the “publish” button is pushed on one of our all-state posts. You can send a nomination with each athlete’s height, position, year in school, significant statistics. Make sure to list the school, too. Comparing a player not on the board yet to one who already is listed also can be very important toward eventual selection. Limit each nomination to one page please. Send to: or call, text (209) 608-1317 (that is the cell for editor Mark Tennis). For boys all-state teams, managing editor Ronnie Flores will be consulted for all final all-state team lists. Email

Our all-state hoops patch for 2023 will be similar to the ones for 2022. Patches for previous years also are available to order at Patches also come with a certificate to further recognize the achievement.

My name is Kort Jensen ( (831-254-7825) and I am the Head Coach and Athletic Director at Oakwood High School in Morgan Hill Ca. We are a D5 school but we play nearly all D1 or D2 school. This past season we finished 24 & 5. The previous school season we finished 24-2. That is 48-7 over the past two years, while playing a very challenging schedule.
I would like to recommend for the All State Team:
    1) Langston Watson ~ 6’3″ sophomore PG. Has been the starting PG for the past two seasons. This season he averaged 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. He currently has multiple D1 Universities looking at him.
    2) Marton Safranka ~ 6’7″ senior forward. Highly skilled inside or outside. Fantastic shooter. Currently holds 5 scholarship offers. Averaged 13.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
    3) Luka Kokochashvili ~ 6’8″ 230lbs enior. Post. Luka is a beast. He can shoot it well but is a force inside. He has 2 current scholarship offers. He averaged 10.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
    4) Lazar Cankovic ~ 6’5″ senior combo guard. He is extremely fast and athletic. The best on ball defender that I have seen in years. He is tenacious on defense! Averaged 8.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.8 steals per game.
    5) Marko Milentijevic ~ 6’5″ sophomore wing. He is truly a GREAT shooter. He can catch and shoot or shoot off of the bounce. Tremendous shooter. He is also an excellent ball handler. Averaged 14.1 points and 3.3 rebounds. He shot 38% from the three point line.
