NEW Boys BB State TOP 25 Rankings

St. Pius X-St. Matthias boys basketball also will take a 34-game league winning streak into next season. This week, the team has gained its first-ever State TOP 25 ranking. Photo: @pmabbasketball / Twitter.com.

In this week’s new boys basketball State TOP 25 rankings, there is a state No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown for the CIF Southern Section Open Division title as St. John Bosco moves up for its highest ranking in boys hoops ever and gets its crack at top-rated Centennial. The Huskies haven’t lost in-state since the 2021 CIF spring season. How far did Sierra Canyon drop after going 0-3 in its CIFSS pool play games and which of the eight teams in those games will be Open or D1 for the upcoming regional playoffs (seedings out next Sunday)? There are three newcomers this week, including two that have been previously ranked and another from the CIFSS that is ranked for the first time in program history.

(Previous rating in parentheses; through games of Saturday, Feb. 18)
