NEW Sac-Joaquin Section TOP 5 List

Last week on the FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five high schools in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section that have the most NFL players going back through 50, 60 years and more, according to CalHiSports.com.

This is the sixth season that CalHiSports.com and FOX 40 have partnered together to have these SJS Top 5 lists as part of the station’s weekly high school football highlights show. Tune in on Fridays at 10:30 for the Game of the Week, top four plays and more. The top 5 list from last week’s show is later revealed on our site. For the top 5 list for this week, it will be the top five schools with the the best/most unique rivalry trophies in the section. Check out the show to see those schools revealed.

TOP 5 SCHOOLS IN SAC-JOAQUIN SECTION FOR HAVING THE MOST ALL-TIME NFL PLAYERS

5. Christian Brothers (Sacramento) 8

Former 49er Ahkello Witherspoon is one of them. He is now in Pittsburgh.

4. Sacramento High 9

Probably the most well known might be longtime kicker Jim Breech.

3. Cordova (Rancho Cordova) 10

This counts Sac State head coach Troy Taylor plus brothers Kevin and Gerald Willhite.

1. (tie) Edison (Stockton) 15

Many of the Vikings who made it in the NFL played in the 1960s and early 1970s under head coach Charlie Washington, the first black head coach in Northern California.

1. (tie) Grant (Sacramento) 15

The Pacers have four right now, including Shaq Thompson of the Panthers and Devontae Booker of the Giants.
