NEW State Top 50 FB Ranks (26-50)

Seth Gwynn makes a play for No. 39 Clayton Valley of Concord during its game against No. 13 Liberty of Brentwood. Gwynn had two interceptions that helped Ugly Eagles force overtime. They lost 28-27 but still moved up in this week’s rankings. Photo: Willie Eashman.

There are only three newcomers this week as many teams that lost to higher-ranked opposition weren’t dropped that far. Those three — Valencia, St. Mary’s of Stockton and McClymonds of Oakland — all face big tests this week so their stays could be short-lived. Those teams moving up the most this week with 10-spot jumps are Inderkum of Sacramento and Pittsburg.

Note: All State Top 50 rankings posts for the rest of the season will be for Gold Club members only. The first run-through of CIF state bowl game projections will be free as well as our first weekly State Medium Schools and State Small Schools Rankings (still working on that), but the rest of those will be Gold Club as well. You can now sign up this season for $3.99 per month or $9.99 for three months, which by the way will carry you through most of the current season. Yearly rate of just 6.8 cents per day also can be done. For details, CLICK HERE.
