Here’s the wrap from Tuesday’s boys and girls basketball CIF NorCal & SoCal regional championships played at home sites plus a look at how the state rankings in each CIF division would look according to our own rankings system (which have been around for 40 years). It will be Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth vs. Sheldon of Sacramento for the CIF Open Division state final for the boys on Saturday in Sacramento. The Sierra Canyon girls also will be there in the Open Division and will play Pinewood of Los Altos Hills (returning to the Open Division title game just like the Sheldon boys). We’ll have more on the teams we’d pick to win in each CIF state final on Thursday, but for today the No. 1 teams for boys would be Sierra Canyon (Open), Chino Hills (D1), Colony of Ontario (D2), University of San Francisco (D3), Ribet Academy (D4) and Foothill of Bakersfield (D5). For the girls, it would be Sierra Canyon (Open), Bishop O’Dowd (D1), Rolling Hills Prep (D2), Oakland (D3), Northview of Covina (D4) and Caruthers (D5).
