No. 1 teams for the 2018 season according to our traditional five-division state breakdowns are Mater Dei of Santa Ana (D1), Lawndale (D2), Menlo-Atherton of Atherton (D3), McClymonds of Oakland (D4) and Hilmar (D5). Two of these schools are No. 1 for the second straight year while two of them are No. 1 in the state for the first time in their school’s histories. Every CIF section champion, whether they were in the CIF bowl games or not, is included. We have 60 teams ranked and more than 100 listed in all.
