Inside the All-State Baseball Teams

At left is Carson Yates from Leland of San Jose, who can now officially be known as an all-state sophomore. At right is the late Logan Hall, who left a lasting imprint at his school (Capistrano Valley Christian) after his death last March. Photos: Twitter.com & cvcs.org.

Instead of a most inspirational player like we’ve done in the past, we’re starting this annual feature this time with a dedication of the teams to Logan Hall, a player at Capistrano Valley Christian of Mission Viejo who died suddenly while sleeping on March 27. We couldn’t squeeze on any players from that team onto an all-state squad, but Logan and his teammates this season deserve to be remembered as well. We also have two family ties writeups on the McLain brothers of Irvine Beckman and the father-son combo of Jeff and Tanner Carlson of Elk Grove. Plus, go inside for additional sophomores and freshmen who can call themselves all-state players and for much more.
