NFHS Playoff Games of the Week

All four of the big four in the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs can be seen on TV this week from our partners at the NFHS Network.

State No. 1 Mater Dei of Santa Ana (10-0) meets Tesoro of Las Flores in Friday’s first round of games. No. 2 Centennial of Corona (9-1) plays JSerra of San Juan Capistrano while No. 3 St. John Bosco of Bellflower (8-2) is paired with Upland. Finally, No. 4 Mission Viejo (10-0), which also has a 38-game win streak, is taking on Servite of Anaheim.

Another state-ranked squad that can be seen on the NFHS Network is No. 15 St. Mary’s of Stockton, which is taking on Modesto on Thursday night in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs.

Other Friday games on the network that might get the juices going:

•Big-time RB Najee Harris and Antioch playing San Ramon Valley of Danville in the CIF North Coast Section D1 playoffs

•Perennial powers Oak Grove of San Jose and Archbishop Mitty of San Jose meeting up in the CIF Central Coast Section Open Division II playoffs.

•High-flying QB Jack Newman and team at 9-1 Analy of Sebastopol taking on Tamalpais of Mill Valley in the CIF North Coast Section Division III bracket.

•And an upset special watch for the Saturday in the Sac-Joaquin Section when host and No. 4 seed Jesuit of Carmichael plays No. 13 Tracy in a Division II first-round game. Two years ago, Tracy upset Jesuit in the Division I playoffs on its way to a spot in the section final.

(Note if you purchase any of these games to watch, note that part of the proceeds will help us out at Cal-Hi Sports as well)
