We’ll have an expanded final package out to 50 teams done on Wednesday (Gold Club), but begin by finalizing top 10. Toughest choice was how high to put CIFSS D1 semifinalist Rancho Cucamonga.

Narbonne drops from No. 5 down to No. 9 after loss to Cathedral Catholic. The biggest question was which team to list No. 10 in place of Calabasas, a team still playing or one that has lost in a higher division?

As expected, St. John Bosco moves up to No. 1 after avenging one of its two losses by topping previous No. 1 Mater Dei in CIFSS D1 final. De La Salle also edges up to No. 4 with Narbonne dropping one spot to No. 5.

There were few moves to be made after a week that saw almost all of the state’s best teams roll in their final games of the regular season. Previous No. 10 Monte Vista of Danville did have to drop after its loss to No. 8 De La Salle and the Mustangs’ spot in the order...

FB: Top 10 Rankings Update

Freedom of Oakley has done enough to jump up into the same No. 10 position that was occupied last week by Monte Vista of Danville. The Falcons (10-0) also are the No. 2 seed behind De La Salle in CIF North Coast Section Open Division.

Top five from CIF Southern Section Division I playoff grouping holds strong and it probably will stay that way until quarterfinals. Only change is to move up Monte Vista of Danville to No. 10 heading into matchup vs. No. 8 De La Salle.
