As is another of our traditions, we present our expanded, final State Top 40 overall boys basketball team rankings for the 2025-26 season. There is some movement from our previous weekly Top 35 update, as once again CIF Southern Section teams that didn’t make the regional playoffs deserve to move up over some NorCal D1 teams, while the D2 finalists show they also were among the best teams in the state. The top of the rankings look awfully close to our preseason forecast minus Santa Ana Mater Dei, which salvaged its season with a SoCal D1 run.
