To keep our all-time archives of final state rankings continuing, here’s a look at our final traditional look at teams placed according to five divisions instead of just medium/small. That’s the way they were done for many years, beginning in the late 1970s by founder Nelson Tennis and continued until the CIF state championships came back in 2006. Already named as teams of the year in these divisions are Santa Margarita for D1, Bakersfield Christian for D2, Kennedy of Delano for D3, Sonora for D4 and Ferndale for D5. There are 85 teams in all with a state ranking in these divisions with more than 20 others mentioned.
