This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. More than lists and numbers, we can provide historical context since we’ve maintained state records in California for more than 40 years. We begin this week with basketball coaches who have won their 800th, 500th and 400th games. There also was monster matchup between the state’s No. 2 and No. 3 boys reported scoring leaders. One of our featured girls is from a team that already this week has won its 19th straight game after losing its opener.
