NEW State TOP 50 FB Rankings (1-25)

Coaches from the No. 1 and No. 25 teams in this week’s State TOP 50 — Bruce Rollinson of Santa Ana Mater Dei & Chuck Chastain of Norco — greeted each other before their teams scrimmaged in August. Mater Dei has been No. 1 in the state since it defeated St. John Bosco in 2021 spring season. Norco just moved up to No. 25 after a big win over Rancho Cucamonga. No way Corona Centennial was going to drop from No. 3 after losing to No. 1 Mater Dei. The harder choices were how high to move Long Beach Poly after its win over previous No. 4 Mission Viejo and which team was going to be placed fifth. Plus, Pittsburg joins the top 10, Inglewood joins the top 15 and Edison (Huntington Beach) goes up to No. 15.
