Get used to these new state baseball rankings coming out on Mondays for the rest of the spring season. While section playoffs won’t be happening in Northern California, we found out Monday morning that they will happen for most of Southern California. For this week’s rankings, Thousand Oaks stays on top for the second straight week, Mater Dei of Santa Ana joins the top five, unbeaten Simi Valley joins the top 15 while big movers into the top 20 are Davis and St. Augustine of San Diego. The highest ranked of five newcomers is Santa Margarita.
