State Stat Stars of the Week

A lot has happened since Narbonne’s D.J. Orona (left) led the Gauchos to an L.A. City Section title when he was a sophomore. At right is Santa Margarita QB Colt Fulton, who joined great list of QBs from school who have had 400 yards passing in one game. Photos: Twitter.com & Hudl.com.

Most this week once again are from football, but there are plenty from baseball and softball (with basketball players waiting in the wings). Football’s best include a 400-yard outing from Santa Margarita QB Colt Fulton, a great first game for the new running back star at Edison of Stockton (replacing the one who is now at Mater Dei), and a performance in which the head coach said, “I guarantee you that has got to be a state record.’ For baseball, we try to guess what a player did who was listed as going 4-for-3 at the plate and with 92 strikeouts on the mound. Finally, for softball, it only took one week for a freshman from Foothill of Pleasanton to put her name into the state record book.
