Inside The All-State Girls BB Teams

All-State first team Breya Cunningham (in photo at left) stands next to Ms. Basketball Te-hina Paopao while at right is Windward first team guard JuJu Watkins. Cunningham and Watkins are two of just five frosh in state history (six if you count one famous player from 1979) who have earned first team all-state honors as 9th graders. There are always difficult decisions to be made for every all-state team so here’s a look back at all of the various teams for the 2020 season. Some of the toughest choices involve who is on first team compared to second team for juniors and this year we don’t know if anyone noticed but we actually went against our own picks when doing first, second and third teams overall. We also have selected a player we were inspired the most from this season, check out the history of freshmen being first team overall plus we have names of more top sophomores and freshmen who just missed being all-state but who probably won’t get left off in the future.
