This is section championship week around the state, as seeds and brackets will be announced for the NorCal and SoCal regional playoffs next Sunday. The big question will be how many teams from the CIF Southern Section are taken for the SoCal open because that will ultimately affect favorites for the CIF D1 state crown as well. The season is zooming by and some talented teams are already done for the season after failing to get past the section quarterfinals, with two newcomers to the rankings this week looking to win section crowns.
