Sac-Joaquin Top 5: WRs

We are happy to say that for the sixth straight year the CalHiSports.com web site and Cal-Hi Sports is going to be part of the weekly Final Quarter high school football show on Friday nights on the FOX 40 station in Sacramento.

On last week’s third show for the 2018 season, we revealed our list for the Top 5 receivers in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section based on last year plus recruiting plus additional research. Here is what that countdown revealed:

1. Joe Ngata (Folsom)
He might be the best receiver in SJS history who is going to Clemson and was the 2017 State Junior of the Year.

2. Dawson Hurst (Del Oro)
He caught four TD passes in his first game this season and is the third Hurst brother to be a standout and D1 college recruit for the Golden Eagles.

3. Elihjah Badger (Folsom)
He was on last year’s all-state sophomore team and is one of the best junior receivers in California.

4. Andrew Hem (McNair, Stockton)
Super quick player who had 77 catches for more than 1300 yards last season and has a couple of D1 offers.

5. Alvin Banks (Cordova)
We are going with him on offense for these top 5 lists with nearly 1,300 receiving yards from last year. He also had 8 interceptions on defense.

The 30-minute show is twice a long as any other Friday night high school football show in the Sacramento market and is returning to the Friday at 11 p.m. time slot.

Watch this week’s show Friday at 11 p.m. for all the local highlights, plus the next Top 5 from CalHiSports.com, which will be a look at the top five most unique school mascot names in California. The show will include highlights from all of the biggest games in the region, including the Fan Favorite game of the week (Whitney of Rocklin vs. Lincoln). Thanks to host Jim Crandell and the FOX 40 team for once again letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.
