Sac-Joaquin Top 5: Most Pts (2 Teams)

We are happy to announce that for the fifth straight year the CalHiSports.com web site and Cal-Hi Sports will be part of the weekly Final Quarter high school football show on Friday nights on the FOX 40 station in Sacramento.

On last week’s show, we revealed our list for the Top 5 highest combined scores for two teams in CIF Sac-Joaquin Section history. Here is what that countdown revealed:

Top 5 Two-Team Scoring Totals
In Sac-Joaquin Section History

1. (tie) Buhach Colony (Atwater) 90, Golden Valley (Merced) 48
This game from 2009 was when Buhach Colony had one of the best teams in the section.

1. (tie) Chavez (Stockton) 74, Bear Creek (Stockton) 64
These two Stockton schools tied the section record just two weeks ago.

3. Vintage (Napa) 80, Armijo (Fairfield) 56
This game from 2010 was the one in which Zach Zuniga scored eight TDs for the Crushers.

4. Mariposa 77, Denair 56
This game is from 2009 and NFL lineman Cody Wichmann played in it.

5. Woodland Christian 68, Valley Christian (Roseville) 58
Cardinals beat the Lions by this score two years ago as Jacob Naschke rushed for 341 yards.

Polls also will once again be conducted on the FOX 40 website for the Papa Murphy’s Fan Favorite Game of the Week. The 30-minute show is twice a long as any other Friday night high school football show in the Sacramento market but this week will be airing on Thursday since a vast majority of first-round section playoff games will be on Thursday.

Watch this week’s show Thursday at 11 p.m. for all the local highlights, plus the next Top 5 from CalHiSports.com, which will be a look at the top five single game touchdown totals for a player in section history. The show will include highlights from all of the biggest games in the region, including the Fan Favorite game of the week. Thanks to host Jim Crandell and the FOX 40 team for once again letting Cal-Hi Sports be part of this year’s show.
