Major changes were made compared to the rankings done prior to the final week of the 2017 season. Among them are San Marcos going up from No. 17 to No. 9, De La Salle moving up from unranked in the Top 20 to No. 10, Elk Grove shifting from No. 16 to No. 11 and then the addition even more high-rising newcomers such as Valley Christian of San Jose and Palm Desert. As is our custom, the final rankings have been expanded with writeups also done for teams at No. 21 to No. 30 and then a listing of 10 more teams ranked in order.
