TOP 10 STATE
BASEBALL TEAMS

1. (1) Buchanan (Clovis) 25-1
Cory Williams’ walk-off homers caps two-game sweep of previous No. 7 Clovis.

2. (2) Redondo Union (Redondo Beach) 23-1*
If Seahawks sweep Mira Costa this week after Mira Costa won Boras Classic state title, it will be harder to argue against them being this high in the rankings.

3. (5) Clovis North (Fresno) 22-4-1
Head coach Chris Patrick’s team gets No. 1 Buchanan in a pair this week to end regular season. Wow.

4. (4) JSerra (San Juan Capistrano) 20-6
Lions were beating St. John Bosco in second of two games last week when rain prevented it from being completed.
No. 2 Orange Lutheran puts the Lions back up near the top.

5. (6) De La Salle (Concord) 17-3
Connor Redmond seems to get a save in every DLS win this season.

6. (9) El Toro (Lake Forest) 21-5
After watching Charger grad Nolan Arenado torch the S.F. Giants all weekend, his alma mater moves up three spots.

7. (10) La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad) 19-5
Mavericks posted two-game sweep of Oceanside El Camino.

8. (19) Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach) 21-5*
Beating previous No. 3 Davis in Boras Classic state final and having the opportunity to play Redondo twice this week too tough to ignore.

9. (15) Serra (San Mateo) 21-5-1
Padres’ may have state’s top leadoff hitting outfielder in Hunter Bishop.

10. (11) Lutheran (Orange) 18-7
After going 0-3 vs. JSerra, Lancers went 2-1 last week against Mater Dei.

TOP 10 STATE
SOFTBALL TEAMS

1. (1) Lutheran (Orange) 26-3
Lancers beat previous No. 7 Mater Dei in league last week, then beat No. 6 Huntington Beach to win Michelle Carew Classic.

2. (4) Los Alamitos 21-2
Head coach Rob Weil’s girls still have just two losses overall on the season.

3. (3) La Habra 24-1
Has it been hard for the Highlanders to get ready for CIFSS playoffs by being in a relatively weak league?

4. (5) Etiwanda 26-2
Eagles notched a big league win last week over St. Lucy’s of Glendora.

5. (8) Amador Valley (Pleasanton) 18-2
A solid nonleague win vs. Castro Valley came in-between league wins vs. California of San Ramon and San Ramon Valley.

6. (6) Huntington Beach 20-4
We will leave the Oilers at sixth since their loss last week was to No. 1 Orange Lutheran and they play No. 2 Los Al on Tuesday.

7. (9) Grand Terrace 21-1
Too bad the Titans had their doubleheader with 19-1 Valley View postponed by rain. Two wins there would have certainly made schedule look stronger.

8. (2) Mission Viejo 20-4
Diablos have to take a hit for losing league game last Tuesday to Aliso Niguel.

9. (10) Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) 24-0-1
This team continues to dominate Ventura County foes.

10. (11) East Union (Manteca) 20-0
Not sure about 16th in the nation (MaxPreps), but if Lancers do end unbeaten and win CIFSJS D3 title they’ll deserve it.
