Charity Hoops Game For Breast Cancer

Greater San Diego basketball community will honor former Mt. Miguel standout Genevieve Costello on June 20 while fundraising for Breast Cancer.

Live4Gen will host the Live4Gen Charity-Celebrity Basketball Game at Mount Miguel High School in San Diego on Saturday, June 20.

The charity event will showcase a combination of San Diego’s best basketball alumni along with celebrities and professional athletes in honor of the late Genevieve Costello, a former standout at Mount Miguel who went on to play at UC-Davis.

In a charitable contribution, Live4Gen brings San Diego’s basketball community together in efforts to raise breast cancer awareness and increase prevention in Costello’s honor. She was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in April of 2013, and lost her battle on May 7, 2013.

The L4G game will tip off at 2:00 pm (PT) with the red carpet open to the pubic at 1:00 pm. Among the notables scheduled to appear include San Diego natives Jared Dudley (Milwaukee Bucks) and Malcolm Thomas (Philadelphia 76ers). Dudley prepped at Horizon of San Diego while Thomas attended San Diego High School.

Proceeds raised will be donated to the UC Davis Genevieve Costello Breast Cancer Research Fund.
