1. (1) De La Salle (Concord) 11-0
Defeated Granada (Livermore) 46-0. The Spartans scored 27 points in the second quarter to lead 46-0 at halftime. They will play Deer Valley of Antioch (11-1) next in CIF North Coast Section D1 semis.

2. (2) St. John Bosco (Bellflower) 12-0
Defeated Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita) 55-7. Josh Rosen connected with Jaleel Wadood for a 64-yard touchdown for the game’s first score on the way to a 42-0 lead at halftime.

3. (3) Folsom 12-0
Defeated Franklin (Elk Grove) 49-16. Jake Browning had six touchdown passes to set the state single-season touchdown record with 68 on the year and counting.

4. (4) Serra (Gardena) 12-0
Defeated Buena (Ventura) 40-6. Despite playing on the road, the Cavs jumped out to a 38-0 halftime lead.

5. (5) Mission Viejo 11-1
Lost to No. 9 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 21-14. The Monarchs intercepted three passes in the first half as the Diablos fell behind 21-7 at halftime and were unable to come from behind for the win.

6. (6) Long Beach Poly (Long Beach) 11-1
Defeated No. 25 St. Bonaventure (Ventura) 44-8. The Jackrabbits led 23-0 at halftime 44-0 after three quarters. Last week’s 18-16 win over Orange Lutheran seems to have been a wake-up call.

7. (8) Alemany (Mission Hills) 10-2
Defeated No. 24 Servite (Anaheim) 21-19. Will face No. 2 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) next week. The Warriors stopped a late two-point conversion to preserve the win after blowing 21-0 lead.

8. (9) Centennial (Corona) 10-2
Defeated Chaparral (Temecula) 49-14. The Huskies play Upland next in CIFSS Inland Division semifinals.

9. (13) Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 10-2
Defeated No. 5 Mission Viejo 21-14. Held Ian Fieber to just three completions in the first half and knocked off previously unbeaten foe. MD vs. LB Poly next week will be rematch of 2012 CIF Pac-5 final.

10. (10) Chaminade (West Hills) 10-2
Defeated Ventura 36-3. Like Serra, cruising into the CIFSS Western Division semis.

11. (11) Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 11-1
Defeated Granite Bay 28-17. Last year’s D1 state bowl champs are done in the Sac-Joaquin Division I bracket. Oak Ridge gets some payback since it was the team Granite Bay beat in last year’s section final.

12. (17) Serra (San Mateo) 9-2
Defeated Pioneer (San Jose) 59-7 on Saturday. The Padres made it 4-for-4 for the WCAL in CCS Open Division quarterfinals.

13. (12) Eastlake (Chula Vista) 10-2
Lost to No. 17 Oceanside 33-30. The Titans led 30-7 before allowing the game’s final 26 points.

14. (14) Mission Hills (San Marcos) 11-1
Defeated Helix (La Mesa) 24-21. Advances to the first CIF San Diego Section Open Division championship game against Oceanside.

15. (18) Vista Murrieta (Murrieta) 11-1
Defeated Charter Oak (Covina) 52-7. The Broncos will face Norco next week. If we were running a TMZ style show, this would be the game we’d go to with former Norco and current Vista Murrieta QB Coltin Gerhart going against his former team.

16. (16) Del Oro (Loomis) 10-2
Defeated Whitney (Rocklin) 35-11. The Golden Eagles will get another surprising upstart team in the SJS D2 semis when they will host Yuba City.

17. (20) Oceanside 10-2
Defeated No. 13 Eastlake (Chula Vista) 33-30. Remember the score of the Mission Hills loss from earlier in the season? It was 30-7, the same score the Pirates were behind at halftime on Friday. Oceanside fan Thomas Gutierrez wrote, “It was the greatest comeback I’ve ever seen.”

18. (19) Bakersfield 9-2
Defeated Clovis West (Fresno) 44-21. The Drillers came off of their first-round bye in the CIF Central Section D1 playoffs and rolled over the Eagles.

19. (NR) Narbonne (Harbor City) 10-2
Defeated Birmingham (Lake Balboa) 21-13. This was a close call for the CIF L.A. City Section’s No. 1 seed. It was 14-13 until a late TD created some breathing room.

20. (NR) Elk Grove 11-1
Defeated Burbank (Sacramento) 18-12. The Thundering Herd defense put together a late stand to hold on. Elk Grove will take on surprising Rio Linda in next week’s SJS D2 semifinals.

21. (23) La Habra 10-2
Lost to Newport Harbor (Newport Beach) 49-48. Quest Truxton catches game-tying touchdown in the final minute and the successful extra point wins it. Cole Norris passed for 486 yards and six touchdowns while Truxton had 16 catches for 248 yards and four scores for Newport Harbor. This result not only made us 2-for-2 on upset alerts this week (we called Christian Brothers of Sacramento beating American Canyon in the other one) but also will surely get Corona del Mar into next week’s Top 25 since the unbeaten Sea Kings have a win over Newport Harbor.

22. (24) Marin Catholic (Kentfield) 11-0
Defeated Eureka 49-14 on Saturday. The Wildcats are now in the NCS D3 semifinals.

23. (7) Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) 10-1
Defeated Palma (Salinas) 28-0. Not sure that Palma should be in the Open Division, but still a solid win for team coming off a lackluster outing in a loss to Serra.

24. (NR) Servite (Anaheim) 6-6
Lost to No. 7 Alemany (Mission Hills) 21-19. Tate Beachley scores with 1:03 remaining but the Friars’ two-point conversion was stopped just shy of the goal line. Maybe next year this young team will make a lot of the close plays it didn’t this season.

25. (NR) St. Bonaventure (Ventura) 8-4
Lost to No. 6 Long Beach Poly 44-8. After the Seraphs beat Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks, didn’t see a blowout like that coming. But maybe also Poly is that good.

greatest victory ive been apart of as far as being at the game last night. well worth the 1 hr drive. other than the 2007 n 2009 state championship games this was spectacular.the pirates made the adjustments on defense and we had some great plays on offense my throat is sore from all the cheering and screaming. now matt gets his shot at redemption to put all his critics to bed with a rematch against grizzlies at the Q!!!!! and bring home another championship!!! cant wait.

Eastlake’s entry security guard telling a few Oceanside fans it is going to be a long ride home when 7-0, Eastlake kids yelling f-bombs to Oceanside fans, Eastlake players saying they are going to beat Oceanside on local tv show, is there any doubt that those bad people with no heart and quit going to beat the Pirates or forces of champion mindsets. NO ! 2nd half beatdown.

there kids played with heart but its a 60 min game and Oceanside fans coaches and players have hearts of champions.. we ran on the field after the victory it was amazing cant wait to get our revenge at the Q I declare victory and a chance to play in regionals either centennial or Murrieta.

I respect Helix, and for the most part they show respect back, for they know the reality and real deal of high level football. Eastlake dominates in their South Bay world, which is not good. Narcisism and myopic arrogance, bad karma, and NO HEART got them !

Dec 9 is going to be a fantastic game. How awesome is it for these two teams to play each other again this time a neutral site for the championship I have no doubt at ALL!!! That Oceanside wins our Pirates have that bad taste in their mouths from losing last time and there going in smelling blood. 1 2 3 dominate PIRATES BABY !!!

Eastlake is one dimensional. They have the athletes to beat Southbay teams. In second half it seemed Eastlake got scared and quit. Oceanside Pirates NEVER QUIT !

It appears that SJB has been playing softies. They have now outscored their playoff foes 124-31 without barely breaking a sweat.

The trinity league isn’t all that. They all struggle with speed. SJB has the most speed of all those teams. That’s also why Alemany is having success against them. The PAC 5 final should be SJB vs Poly. I think Poly will take it again.

The Oceanside vs. Eastlake game was the best I have ever had a chance to experience. Here we’re the Pirates who were down and out at halftime. The crowd motivated those players and the coaches did their jobs to get the right plays in. The whole second half you could hear a pin drop on the Eastlake sideline all the way from the Oceanside bench. The Oceanside fans( including me) were shouting and cheering the whole second half for their mighty Pirates. The players feed off that energy and play a helluva second half to defeat the trash-talking Titans. I am glad to be a Oceanside resident and supporter of their local high school. They are going to the Q and they will be seeking revenge for their loss earlier in the year against Mission Hills. Lets go Pirates.
