All-State Baseball: First Team

On the same day that Major League Baseball was announcing which players are going to this year’s All-Star Game, we were finalizing the picks for the 34th annual Cal-Hi Sports all-state first team. All of these players will be listed in the state record book, and we’ll be posting all of them later this summer.

This is one of the most impressive groups of elite players to be chosen as finalists for State Player of the Year we’ve ever had and have ever encountered in more than 100 years of research. Five of the nine finalists were chosen among the first 41 in last week’s MLB Draft.

Aiken Leads CA’s 10 1st Rounders

It was a fun first round for those from The Baseball Capital of the World as Californians Brady Aiken started and Jacob Gatewood finished the first round of the MLB Draft on Thursday night.

State Stat Stars of the Week

Preseason State Top 20 For Baseball

Loyola of Los Angeles looks loaded to contend for state’s top ranking in baseball, but we’re still starting the Cubs right behind league rival and 2013 State Team of the Year Harvard-Westlake in the State Top 20 for the preseason. Clovis teams are insanely strong this year as well.
