Junior-laden DLS State Team of Year

The coaches at legendary De La Salle of Concord don’t like to compare championship teams, but we’ve seen them all since 1985 and we don’t mind. The rushing attack, an ability to overcome the loss of key players and the presence of more juniors than usual is what stands out most to us.

Alumbaugh, DLS Win One For Books

Top-ranked De La Salle of Concord wins its sixth CIF state bowl game with a 63-42 victory over No. 2 Corona Centennial that sets a CIF bowl game record for combined points. Centennial turns the ball over on three straight possessions in the second half and high-octane offense can’t overcome miscues.

Folsom handled again by DLS

A 45-17 win often is about offense, but when it’s about shutting down the prolific offense of Folsom then it’s the defense of state No. 1 De La Salle that took center stage in the Spartans’ win for the CIF Northern California Open Division bowl game title.

FB: Halloween at De La Scary

The beat goes on at De La Salle and the Spartans look so good it’s scary As Shakespeare once wrote in Hamlet Act I. “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” With respect to the football program at state top-ranked Concord De La Salle, that’s part of the gospel. Anyone that doubts […]
