A lot of mid-week games had to be included in this report and the big one in baseball is California City’s Blake Moore becoming just the second pitcher in state history to reach 600 career strikeouts. The bad news for him is that it happened in a playoff loss and his season is over. Ethan Ash of California Lutheran also wrapped up season with 59 RBI (which will be top 10 in CIFSS history). For softball, Ava Avila of LeGrand is a sophomore to watch with 18-0 pitching record and 61 RBI. Plus, we have final fabulous career totals for South El Monte’s Jazmine Leyva (see which one ranks second on an all-time state list).
