NEW Girls BB State TOP 30 Rankings

Sage Hill of Newport Beach will take a top 15 state ranking into its CIF D1 regional final on Tuesday vs Windward of Los Angeles. A win would mean a trip to Golden 1 Center in Sacramento for the CIF state finals. Photo: @sagehillgbb / X.com.

As is often the case with respect to the top teams in the Open Division for California girls basketball the key word is “rematches.” This year is another perfect example. The CIF Southern Regional championship on Tuesday will be a third meeting of the two teams this season while the Northern Regional title game is a rematch of last year’s game but a series that goes even further back. The funnel has narrowed down to the ultimate squeeze as the only remaining teams that don’t have an asterisk next their name are still in the hunt for a CIF state championship. This also will be the final weekly rankings until the final expanded rankings after the state championships.
