This feature serves as our statewide collection of milestone achievements in California high school sports. More than lists and numbers, we can provide historical context since we’ve maintained state records in California for more than 40 years. Passing leaders this week include a freshman from Cathedral of Los Angeles who completed 17-of-17 passes in one game and a senior from Kearny of San Diego who set a section record for pass attempts. One of our rushing leaders with 331 yards also kicked a field goal in the same game while another one had 380 yards and only carried the ball 13 times. Go inside as well to find the name of the latest girl to score a touchdown in a varsity game.
