Boys & Girls BB State Stat Stars

J.T. Byrne of Carmel (left) should be fun to follow as his three-sport career develops in the coming years. At right is Oaks Christian’s Taylor Donaldson giving a look of cool confidence. Both have had 40-point games this month. Photos: thesandpiper.org & Hudl.com.

There’s been several monstrous outings to get details about from the last two weeks, so here they are. On the boys side, we had 53 points from Sanger’s Luke Dillon, 50 from San Ysidro’s Jurian Dixon (that school’s “other” freshman), and 47 from Carmel’s J.T. Byrne. For the girls, how about 50 from freshman phenom Chloe Briggs of Ontario Christian and 43 from Taylor Donaldson of Oaks Christian? And in writing about this week’s stat stars, it was impossible not to think about how many times we might have been able to write about Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Gianna, who would have been a freshman next season (along with the two other eighth-grade girls who perished in that crash).
