NEW State Top 25 Boys BB Rankings

Gonzaga-bound guard Dom Harris flies to the hoop for new No. 1 Rancho Christian during game just before New Year’s vs. No. 2 Sierra Canyon. The two teams will meet again Saturday. It was not a No. 1 vs. No. 2 in state matchup before, but may be the second of four possible times the two teams may play this season. Photo: Jelissa Holder / BallisLife.com.

After all of the holiday tournaments and showcases, we always expect a major shakeup in the rankings, but this New Year’s edition is the craziest we can recall in recent memory. After we poured over all the results and when it’s all said and done, we have a new state No. 1 because of the result of two overtime games, in addition to five newcomers to the first updated set of rankings for 2020. So who deserves to be No. 1 in the state in boys basketball? Let’s just say the question will be much easier to answer after next Saturday.
