Valley Christian of San Jose, Vacaville and Eastlake of Chula Vista all completed championship seasons one week after the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs were in the books. So what to do about that? Valley Christian went up one spot in the final rankings (No. 4), Vacaville stayed at No. 8 (but definitely could have been higher) while Eastlake jumped three spots to No. 9. Every major section champion got into this feature, but it was a challenge to fit Birmingham of Lake Balboa (20-16) from the L.A. City Section. For our breakdowns on all 40 teams and for our general recap of the state’s 2019 season, check out this post.
