Some teams began league play last week while others had non-league games but eight teams in the rankings, including No. 1 and No. 2, were in action in the nine-game Elite Is Earned Showcase put on by noted girls basketball analyst Chris Hansen last Saturday at Orinda Miramonte. Also, with the beginning of 2018, and with transfers, injuries, travel fatigue from the holiday tournaments, there were some upsets last week, but after all was said and done there are no newcomers in this week’s rankings.
