This week’s D1 section quarterfinals: Tracy at Folsom, Vacaville at Jesuit, Sheldon at St. Mary’s, Gregori at Oak Ridge.

This week’s D2 section quarterfinals: Antelope at Granite Bay, Sacramento at Del Campo, Rocklin at Central Catholic, Inderkum at Del Oro.

This week’s D3 section quarterfinals: Vanden at Oakdale, Vista del Lago at Patterson, Rio Linda at Christian Brothers, American Canyon at Manteca..

Note of the Week: How can Placer be ranked high with a 42-16 loss to Nevada Union and when NU was only 2-8 this season? First, in the very next week, Lincoln edged Nevada Union and then later on in the Pioneer Valley League the Hillmen ran past Lincoln 49-20. They also have a quality win over Aptos from the CIF Central Coast Section. Early season results can be overcome and they can be misleading. Information about injuries, turnovers and other factors can’t be known just by looking at a team’s scores.
