Jacob Moss of Santa Clarita Christian isn’t going to be credited with a state record by one yard, but is going to go into the book with a total of 380 receiving yards for a state record tie in team’s 61-47 playoff loss to South El Monte. RB Sal Tovar of South El Monte also shined with seven TDs while Santa Clarita Christian QB goes into the books as well with 635 passing yards. We also had crazy totals from Murrieta Valley’s 65-48 playoff win over Norco.

Note: We will collect totals from MaxPreps, newspapers, tweets and from those sent in to us. We also will compile single-game highs from this post throughout the season and of course we use our weekly State Stat Stars collection as an aid for the Cal-Hi Sports State Record Book. That is the only state record book anyone has ever done and we have published it seven times with full copyright protection. To report totals to us for this feature and for the record book, email markjtennis@gmail.com or call 209-608-1317. You can also text to 209-608-1317.

Samir Allen (Clovis)
It was a career night for Allen but it wasn’t enough when the Cougars lost to their rivals from Clovis West 42-28 in the CIF Central Section Division I playoffs. Allen rambled for 320 yards on 32 carries and scored on runs of 3,9, 39 & 8 yards.

Kalei Aukai (Santa Rosa)
The Panthers had their season end with a heartbreaking 38-37 loss to Windsor in the CIF North Coast Section D2 playoffs despite Aukai catching 10 passes for 262 yards and one touchdown.

Hank Bachmeier & Lika Palmer
(Murrieta Valley, Murrieta)

What a shootout it was between the Nighthawks (ranked No. 10 in the state) and Norco in the CIFSS Division II playoffs. Murrieta Valley won 65-48 and the teams combined for 1,416 yards. Bachmeier completed 29 of 37 passes for 423 yards and three TDs. Palmer rushed for 344 yards on 38 carries and scored four times. Junior standout Marquis Spiker was Bachmeier’s leading target as he caught 15 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns. The Nighthawks had 829 total yards, a number that goes into the state record book.

Brent Bailey (Clovis North, Fresno)
One of the top QBs in the Central Section, Bailey had a banner night in the Broncos’ 33-28 loss to defending champion Liberty of Bakersfield in the D1 quarterfinals. Bailey had 303 yards passing and one TD and 106 yards rushing and one score for 409 total yards.

Marco Baldacchino (Oak Ridge, El Dorado Hills)
Dual threat quarterback passed for 126 yards and rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries during a 41-28 win over Cosumnes Oaks of Elk Grove in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs.

Tariq Bracy (Milpitas)
This junior is no stranger to having his name listed in this honor roll and did it all during a 35-28 win over San Benito of Hollister in the CIF CCS Open Division I semifinals. Rushing for 127 yards and two touchdowns, he also caught nine passes for 171 yards and had the game-tying 90-yard touchdown catch. Bracy’s interception on defense also helped set up the game-winning score.

B.J. Busbee (St. Anthony, Long Beach)
Watch out for the Saints in the CIFSS Division X playoffs, especially after their 60-28 triumph last week against Dos Pueblos of Goleta. Busbee caught seven passes for 252 yards and four TDs with the longest TD covering 90 yards. He also scored on a 17-yard run.

Salieu Ceesay & Branden Rankins
(Aquinas, San Bernardino)

In a 49-0 win over Pasadena Poly in the CIFSS Division IX playoffs, Ceesay threw for 203 yards and five TDs on 11 of 20 passing and also had an interception while playing defense. Rankins, one of the state’s top junior RBs, rushed for 248 yards and scored on runs of 30 and 41 yards.

Trey Curry (Olympian, Chula Vista)
The Eagles advanced in the CIF San Diego Section Division II playoffs with a 40-26 win over Granite Hills of El Cajon behind Curry, who rushed for 208 yards and two scores on just 13 carries. We don’t know if Trey shoots threes in basketball, his first name could the Steph Curry’s middle name.
pachecobros_web
J.T. Daniels (Mater Dei, Santa Ana)
In contention for multiple state and national honors, this sophomore has not shown any signs of a slump this season. Las week, he completed 25 of his 43 pass attempts for 407 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions during a 63-30 win over Vista Murrieta of Murrieta. Entering this week’s game vs. Rancho Cucamonga, Daniels has 4,272 yards and 63 TDs with just two interceptions.

Jake Dunniway (St. Mary’s, Stockton)
While his teammate, Tre Jenkins III, was named as our Cal-Hi Sports NorCal Defensive Player of the Week, he also had a big night during a 44-7 win over Pitman of Turlock in the Sac-Joaquin Section D1 playoffs. Dunniway completed 15 of his 21 pass attempts for 315 yards and five touchdowns.

Travis Dye & Nick Lasher
(Norco)

These two did their part to help Norco get 587 yards in that 65-48 shootout loss to Murrieta Valley. Dye, a state stat star last week, had 19 carries for 260 yards and two TDs. Lasher connected on 19 of 28 passes for 303 yards and five scores.

Gus Ferreira (Hilltop, Chula Vista)
It was a weekend of some crazy passing performances and he was the go-to wideout during a 50-27 loss to Christian of El Cajon in the San Diego D3 playoffs. Ferreira caught 19 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns.

Austin Garber (Paradise)
Adding to his school record breaking totals, Garber rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries when the Bobcats defeated Enterprise of Redding 46-28 in the Northern Section D2 playoffs.

Jacobi Hardy (Wilson, Long Beach)
It was time to party in Long Beach after the game that Hardy had when the Bruins advanced to the CIFSS Division IV semifinals by beating Saugus 25-23. Hardy carried 33 times for 280 yards and three TDs. He also went over 1,700 yards rushing for the season.

Spezio Harmount (California School for the Deaf, Fremont)
While he may not be as big of a recruit as Berean Christian’s Isaiah Hodgins on the opposing sideline, who caught three touchdown passes, Harmount did have a big-time game during CSD’s 56-21 loss in the NCS D5 playoffs as he caught six passes for 207 yards and two scores.

Andrew Hernandez (Bradshaw Christian, Sacramento)
Scoring in three different ways during a 34-29 win over Argonaut of Jackson, he returned a kickoff for a touchdown while also rushing for a score and catching a touchdown pass. Unbeaten Bradshaw plays Amador of Sutter Creek (11-1) in Saturday’s Sac-Joaquin Section D5 final.

Isaiah Hill (Liberty, Bakersfield)
The talented QB led his team past Clovis North of Fresno 33-28 in the CIF Central Section D1 playoffs by passing for 306 yards and two TDs on 15 completions in 27 attempts.

Nate Hughes (Sunnyside, Fresno)
It was a wild night when Hughes and his team got past host Tulare 66-55 in the CIF Central Section playoffs. Hughes ended with 367 yards passing on 13 of 22 and had five TDs. WR Breaun Heights also shined with four catches for 172 yards and two TDs.

Nathan Lamb (Tulare)
A standout sophomore, Lamb was the counterpart of Sunnyside’s Nate Hughes in a shootout game in the Central Section that Sunnyside won 66-55. Lamb passed for 331 yards on 25 of 37 and had five touchdowns. According to section historian Bob Barnett, Lamb also established a new season section record with a 78.1 completion average. Junior WR Emoryie Edwards also had 10 receptions for 169 yards and two TDs.

Nate Landman & Shane Perry (Monte Vista, Danville)
Both had big performances during a 56-28 win over Heritage of Brentwood in the CIF NCS Division I semifinals. Landman caught five passes for 74 yards and a touchdown, had a touchdown pass and intercepted two passes on defense. Perry led the rushing attack with 240 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries.

Reuben Lee (Brookside Christian, Stockton)
The Knights captured the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII championship with a 54-21 win over Stone Ridge Christian of Merced behind Lee. He had a hand in it in many ways as he rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, caught two passes for 70 yards and a score, returned an interception for a score and made seven tackles.

Adrian Martinez (Clovis West, Fresno)
Issuing a commitment to Cal wasn’t the only great thing that Martinez did last weekend. The junior QB and backbone of the team all season accumulated 492 yards on offense with 246 yards passing (18 of 32) and two touchdowns and rushed for 246 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns to lead the Golden Eagles past Clovis 42-28 in the CIF Central Section D1 playoffs.

Tanner McKee (Centennial, Corona)
The junior QB is putting up big-time numbers and is collecting D1 college offers as well. In Centennial’s 66-35 triumph vs. Chaminade in the CIFSS D1 quarterfinals, McKee went 18 of 22 for 347 yards and five TDs. He threw four of his TDs to Justin Fisher (all in the first half).

Tristan Miller & Jacob Moss
(Santa Clarita Christian, Canyon Country)

Miller to Moss was said over and over again during a 61-47 loss to South El Monte in the CIFSS Division 13 quarterfinals. Miller completed 34 of his 43 pass attempts for 635 yards and seven touchdowns and goes into the state record book for single game yards at No. 4. Moss’ receiving totals, however, were more difficult to determine. The school has reported him with 20 catches for 381 yards and five TDs. That 381-yard total, however, would be one yard above the single game state record so further investigation was required. After talking to The Signal newspaper, since it had a reporter at the game with an initial lower total but then later reported the 381-yard number, we’re not going to give someone a state record in this category by one yard. What we are going to do is lower Moss’ total to 380 and will list it as a tie with the 380 yards for Damen Wheeler of Sacramento set in 2013 and the 380 yards for sophomore Mycah Pittman of Westlake Village Oaks Christian from earlier this season. Note: Total in National Federation High School record book (online) with a 403-yard single-game receiving yard total for John Portugal of Oceanside (1991) is incorrect. Portugal was a QB and not WR and the 403 yards is for passing.

Jeremy Moussa (Roosevelt, Eastvale)
Making sure his season would last until after Thanksgiving, he completed 36 of his 48 pass attempts for 545 yards and six touchdowns during a 56-42 win over Redlands. This also marked the final game in the long, influential career of Redlands head coach Jim Walker. Moussa’s top receivers were Erik Brooks (12 catches, 146 yds, 2 TDs) and Braedin Huffman-Dixon (7 for 126, 2 TDs).

Dean Nagle (Beckman, Irvine)
He did his best to keep the Patriots close to unbeaten Rubidoux of Riverside in the CIFSS D10 playoffs. In the end, Rubidoux won 41-26. Nagle completed 25 of 49 passes for 342 yards and three TDs.

Hayden Pegley (Menlo School, Atherton)
The senior quarterback completed 22 of 46 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns in Menlo’s CCS Div. V 34-28 semifinal win over Seaside. For the fourth straight game, Pegley also passed for more than 250 yards. Teammate Evan King also had 10 catches for 163 yards, one that set up the game-winning TD pass from Pegley to Jack McNally. King then picked off a pass to seal the win.

Gavin Reinwald (Elk Grove)
Catching passes from both quarterbacks in the game, Reinwald had eight receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns while also intercepting a pass on defense during a 42-19 win over Turlock in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I quarterfinals.

Ronnie Rivers (Freedom, Oakley)
While it was raining this past weekend causing all sorts of water to be on the ground, Rivers was also running through the Pittsburg defense for 299 yards and five touchdowns on 37 carries while also catching a touchdown pass during a 55-35 win in the CIF NCS Open Division semifinals. Freedom (11-0) advanced to play De La Salle (10-1) for the NCS Open Division title.

Colin Schooler (Mission Viejo)
The Diablos had their 39-game winning streak come to an end with a 42-26 loss to Rancho Cucamonga but Schooler still had a big night. He rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown while also catching one touchdown pass with 140 receiving yards.

William Semone (Oakdale)
He rushed for a school record 317 yards and three touchdowns during a 63-35 win over Vista del Lago of Folsom in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs.

Sal Tovar (South El Monte)
He outgained some entire teams last weekend on his own as he rushed for 308 yards and seven touchdowns on 32 carries during a 61-47 win over Santa Clarita Christian of Canyon Country. The win also advanced South El Monte to the CIFSS Division 13 semifinals.

Miguel Wharton (Sierra Pacific, Hanford)
He had a career night by scoring six touchdowns for a school record and rushed for a game high of 308 yards on 23 carries in a 63-33 win over McFarland in the CIF Central Section Division V playoffs. Teammate Gerod Magee also rushed for 233 yards and one touchdown.

Jordan Wilmore (Lawndale)
Just a sophomore, Wilmore was apparently motivated to have a big game running the ball when his team played Summit of Fontana in last week’s CIFSS D6 playoffs. Summit is where USC-bound Stephen Carr is from but it was Wilmore that put on a show in Lawndale’s 38-14 win. He piled up 325 yards on 39 carries and scored four TDs. Wilmore may get close to 2,000 yards for the season this week.

Braden Wingle (Bakersfield Christian)
It was a fine Friday night for Wingle when the alma mater of Raiders’ QB Derek Carr beat Fresno High 51-21 in the CIF Central Section D3 playoffs. Wingle passed for 358 yards on 21 of 33 and had three TD passes. WR Jeremiah Foster also had 10 receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns.
