Sac-Joaquin Top 5: Heisman Trophy

Last week on the latest FOX 40 Final Quarter high school football show of the 2016 season, hosts Jim Crandell and Kristina Werner revealed a list of the top five Heisman Trophy vote-getters from the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, according to CalHiSports.com.

Here is what that countdown revealed:

(There have been no winners from the SJS since first year of the trophy in 1934)
(These are those who have placed highest in voting)
(Can Folsom’s Jake Browning at Washington finish higher this year or even win?)

1. Robbie Bosco (Roseville)
BYU quarterback was third twice in 1984 and 1985.

2. Nick Eddy (Tracy)
Notre Dame running back was third in 1966.

3. Paul Larson (Turlock)
Cal quarterback was fifth in 1954. Had more points than Vic Bottari.

4. Vic Bottari (Vallejo)
Cal running back was fifth in 1938 (fourth year of award).

5. Eddie LeBaron (Oakdale)
UOP quarterback was sixth in 1949.
