Most Successful Young Sports Personalities

We’ve seen a lot of great accomplishments from young athletes over the years, some from California and some from all over the world. It’s amazing to think that they go through years of training and still manage to achieve so much in their early or late teens. Other big names have yet to even reach 30 and have accomplished – or contributed – so much to the world of sports. To honor these great achievers, we are going to take a look at the most successful young sports personalities in the world in this blog post.

Andy Murray
He is one of the most successful names in tennis. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, the young tennis player started his professional career from very early in his teens and quickly grabbed the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year honor in 2004; he was 17 when he received the award.
Murray ranked No. 1 in Britain just two years later and quickly became one of the best 10 players on the ATP rankings a year after, on April 16, 2007. Since the start of his career, he has won three Grand Slam tournaments, two Olympics and one Davis Cup.
He also received two BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in 2013 and 2015. In the 2016 Rio Olympics, he brought home another gold medal for Britain.

Jade Jones
She is another name from the world of sports that is noted as one of the most accomplished young sports personalities. Taekwondo is her sport of choice and she competes in the women’s 57kg category. She won her first senior title in 2011. It was a memorable milestone because she won gold in the 62kg category just one day after winning a bronze medal in the 57kg category.
She also won an Olympic gold medal in 2012. It is worth noting that Jade was only 19 at the time. Her calm composure paired with aggressive moves are among the things that make her opponents respect her during fights.
Of course, she also won a gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic for the women’s 57kg category. She also has a total of four other European championship medals so far.

Bruno Foster
Known more by his middle name, Foster, Bruno Politano is a young poker player from Brazil who has been stealing attention and winning amazing pots over the years. He started very early and is now known a part of the top-level professionals. Even at his age, Foster has already netted more than $1 million in live winnings from various competitions.
Foster is also among the select professional poker players who regularly play online, and claims he likes to watch emotional videos to get him in the right frame of mind. Online poker enables a lot of people who aspire to be a professional players to compete with actual professionals. He is now 770th on the Global Poker Index, but he’s climbing that index rather quickly.

Tom Daley
We really can’t talk about successful young sport personalities without mentioning Tom Daley. He was the youngest athlete ever to be awarded with the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year honor. He received the award in 2007 at the age of 13. He competes in diving and has been one of the most accomplished athletes in the field since the beginning of his professional career.

These are some of the big, young names in sports. It is always amazing to see what they have accomplished at such a young age.
